Introducing Cimatic: A Solo Founder's Journey to Faster CI/CD

A year ago, I left my job to be a full-time parent. In my spare time, I built Cimatic, a tool to optimize CI/CD pipelines. Here's the story.

A year ago, I made a big life change: leaving my job to become a full-time parent. It's been incredibly rewarding, but also meant adapting how I work.

During those precious few hours while my kids nap or after bedtime, I've been focused on solving a persistent challenge I've seen throughout my career: inefficient CI/CD pipelines.

In conversations with former colleagues and potential employers, I realized my experience with pipeline optimization was particularly valuable. Instead of taking these skills to just one company, I decided to build something that could help engineering teams everywhere.

Since early this year, I've been dedicating 2-3 hours daily to creating Cimatic—a platform that:

  • Pinpoints exact bottlenecks in your CI/CD pipeline
  • Delivers data-driven insights to eliminate guesswork
  • Accelerates build and test cycles through targeted optimizations

My approach has been deeply practical: I've analyzed hundreds of open source repositories to identify patterns that either accelerate or hinder development velocity.

I'm excited to announce that Cimatic will be launching in open beta this August! We're starting with GitHub Actions—the most widespread CI/CD platform, but also the one that needs the most improvement and optimization.

If your team struggles with slow or unreliable GitHub Actions workflows, or if you know someone who does, I'd be grateful if you'd:

  1. Join the waitlist at https://cimatic.io/
  2. Share this post with your network

Let's make CI/CD more efficient, reliable, and enjoyable together!
